 DESIGN ASSISTANT

The design assistant ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual, who will utilize his or her organizational skills to maintain product specifications, communicate with vendors, and support the team in the concept through production process. This position will support various aspects of the Design/Development/Production process through close partnerships and consistent communication to ensure the development process runs efficiently, through daily administrative and design-related tasks. They will assist with the design development process which includes creatively finding solutions and different perspectives pertaining to design, ultimately supporting the Designer’s creative direction.

This is a permanent full time role for a candidate who comprehends deadlines and has strong organization skills that will thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

BOYS + ARROWS is headquartered in the majestic Ojai, CA. Ability to be in-office daily is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

• Create & maintain organized line sheets, binders, fabric sheets, trim sheets, etc
• Conduct daily correspondence/ follow up with design and production emails
• Communicate with factories overseas to coordinate timely deliveries of
samples fabric and trims
• Assist with coordinating/shipping/tracking/spec’ing of sample line,
including cut tickets
• Textile Design and recoloring of existing textile designs.
• Create hand-sketched Illustrator CADs and Line Sheets
• Review lab dips, strike offs, and samples for approval
• Create, Organize & Maintain Fabric, Trim & Art Libraries

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Knowledge of garment construction
• Impeccable communication & organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail
• High proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
• Flat sketching skills required
• Previous CAD experience
• Possesses an open mind and willingness to learn
• Flexible and adaptable to a very fast-paced environment

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
• 1+ years of related work experience
• Associate’s Degree or higher in a related study (apparel design, technical
design or product development)

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
• 5+ years agency or in-house experience
• Experience designing for both digital and print
• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
• Must have exceptional layout and typography skills
• Have a mastered understanding of design principals
• Have an elevated, minimal, purposeful design aesthetic
• Pixel perfect attention to detail
• Photo retouching experience preferred
• Strong organizational skills a must
• Must be a motivated self-starter
• Able to work within and maintain existing brand guidelines
• Strong problem-solving skills and great communicator • Ability to accurately measure the amount of time to spend on current and future projects

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in building layout for line sheets, look books, and miscellaneous print material
• CAD illustrations for product development
• Design email blasts, banner ads, and social media graphics
• Develop innovative and creative ideas for digital creatives
• Manage process for projects to ensure proper review time is given and deadlines are met
• Maintain standards and brand guidelines in all creative designs
• Effectively communicate both in verbal and written form regarding design concepts
• Assist Art Director in sourcing print vendors, samples, etc in multiple cities
• Produce high-quality, on-brand, and beautifully executed work, staying aware of current design trends and best practices
• Work well independently and within a collaborative team-setting and fast-paced environment

• Be adaptable in the creative process to properly support leading design team

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

 

This a FULL-TIME POSITION for a detail oriented, hard working and very organized individual for a personal assistant to the CEO of a fast-growing swimwear and lifestyle brand. This positive, competent, high-energy new team member will be able to think fast, work irregular & flexible hours, and have previous personal assistant experience - and all while maintaining an immense sense of humor and wit! You will be able to pick up the pieces and move mountains. Mindreading is a plus!

GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES

• Check and review all emails in founder's inbox, prioritize tasks, delegate and follow up until completed 
• Return reference samples as needed, track and confirm samples have been received and refunded to CNB
• Email Daily Recap to Founder by EOD with to-do list for the upcoming day/week/month
• Manage and maintain up to date list of username and logins for all websites
• Organize and manage accounting filing cabinets
• Constant communication with legal, finance and personal contacts
• General bookkeeping assistance  

SCHEDULING CALENDAR

• Manage founder’s calendar and appointments
• Schedule meetings and events accordingly both personal and business related
• Coordinate weekly meetings with the founder to recap items that need to be addressed
• Coordinate team meetings with the founder to recap items that need to be addressed 

MAINTAINING THE HQ

• Keep office clean and tidy
• Keep an inventory of all office supplies and basics and order as necessary
• Open and distribute daily mail accordingly
• Prep HQ for meetings and maintain organization throughout both offices
• Keeping office well stocked with snacks, Perrier, Protein Shakes 
• Assist each department where needed 

 TRAVEL

• Work with travel agent or directly with airlines/sites to book all flights, hotels and airport transfers
• Set up and calendar any meetings and events taking place during travel
• Purchase any equipment necessary such as phone and computer equipment as well as any other items needed
• Work with IT prior to travel to make sure all individuals traveling have proper equipment needed for phone and computer use
• Maintain any and all expenses related to travel including purchasing foreign currency, handling reimbursements for travel-related purchases and reconciling all CC charges related to travel
• Work within the approved budget
